Dr. Jacques Dallaire is an internationally-recognized performance specialist who has worked with more than 680 high-performance racing drivers from 40 countries and just about every form of racing on the planet, in addition to more than a thousand high performance individuals from other walks of life. In motorsport, many of Dr. Jacques’ clients are the "who’s who" of the racing world, competing at the top levels of the sport worldwide.

Patrick Dempsey (Actor & Race Car Driver): "…I try to live my ACT Model every day and it informs the way I approach my professional life, my personal life, and my racing. As a parent, I use the framework in the way I interact with my children and my spouse, and I believe that every young athlete or child deserves to have parents who are aligned with this way of thinking."

Jamie McMurray (NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver): "…I know from personal experience that the information is not only directly relevant to performance in motor racing, it is relevant to life in general as well. This is a workshop that no driver, or their parents, should miss!"

David Ragan (NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver): "The time I spent with Dr. Jacques gave me direction and I am confident that this process will help me to get to the next level in my career. I would suggest this program to anyone who needs to get their mind in the game."

Marcus Smith (President & General Manager, Charlotte Motor Speedway): "…Having completed the ACT program, I can tell you that many of the teachings speak to the core of what it takes to be successful, as a business executive, as a driver, and as a team.. the program gives you the tools to help hone these skills and many more that will ultimately improve your performance…"

Dr. Jacques Dallaire: "Sometimes, our personal performance is everything we hoped it would be… moments of brilliance where everything just goes right... We are in the groove, having fun, fully focused on the task in front of us… We operate with a relaxed intensity…confident in our own abilities... We are in the ZONE

"But all too often, we just can't seem to put this kind of peak performance package together. In fact, in these difficult situations we are our own worst enemy since the harder we try to 'make it happen', the worse our personal performance gets. This less-than-ideal mindset directly affects how we perform. This reality applies to every living human being on the planet, regardless of culture or language, or whether our 'job' requires us to drive race cars, fly jets, swing a golf club, negotiate $million deals, operate on someone’s brain, or pitch a prospective client.

"My name is Dr. Jacques Dallaire and I've enjoyed the opportunity over the past 35 years to work with thousands of high performance individuals from many walks of life. Many have been from the world of motor racing but many have not. You may find it surprising that no matter what profession or sport they were involved in however, the two most common requests I have consistently heard from the majority of the highly successful performers I have worked with over the years have been:

"Show me how to maintain my confidence when things are not going well"; and
"Show me how to focus more effectively and when I lose my focus, how to get it back quickly".

"Interesting, isn’t it? It doesn’t matter what sport they participate in or what job they do, these high performance people wrestle with the same ‘demons’, regardless of how accomplished a performer they might be. Could there be any better recent example of how even the best must sometimes deal with these issues (and the impact on their performance) than Tiger Woods. If we begin to doubt ourselves and allow distractions to preoccupy our mind, our personal performance always suffers."

The "Think Like a Champion…Perform Like a Champion" workshop is designed to provide participants with information that will help you to better understand how the way that you think directly influences how you perform. You will be able to use this knowledge to understand how a self-sabotaging mindset occurs…how it begins, how it evolves and more importantly, how you can stop it. As a parent, you will learn how the way that you interact with your young racer influences what they adopt as their Dominant Thought… and ultimately how they perform. You will also learn why the common strategy of focusing on Results is the single biggest problem that high performance people wrestle with, and how this mindset can actually sabotage your performance…

The workshop is being hosted by the Charlotte Motor Speedway and by INEX/US Legends Cars International. It is open to all Charlotte area drivers, engineers, crew chiefs, and crew members, regardless of the series in which they compete. It is also open to the parents of young racers, many of whom compete in INEX/USLCI series and as important players in the lives and careers of these young competitors, we encourage parents to actively participate as well. For the young drivers themselves, the knowledge they acquire through the workshop will not only be of direct value to them in the racing environment, it will also provide them with a frame of reference and life skills that they can benefit from into the future…away from the track as well as on it. The workshop will be interactive and it is intended that all participants will participate. Topics to be discussed will include:

  • The "Seven Key Rules of the Mental Road", a framework that helps us to understand how we process information as human beings, and how this thinking directly affects our ability to perform.
  • Factors that Affect Concentration…Understanding the Skill of Concentration and how to control it.
  • The Use of Imagery and how it Affects Performance.
  • The Effect of Anxiety on Performance…How STRESS factors into the Performance Equation.
  • An introduction to the ACT Model© process…How we can Begin to Learn to Optimize our Mindset and Control it on Command.
  • And much more.

Once participants have registered for the workshop and their application has been received at the USLCI facility, they will be sent a link via email to complete six online questionnaires (completion time is approximately 20 minutes) that will be analyzed and confidential feedback provided at the time of the workshop. In order to access and complete the online questionnaires, a unique email address will be needed for each registered participant. These questionnaires (which address such topics as competitive stress profiles, individual coping skills, etc.) are intended to provide each participant with information pertaining to their personal profile, to make the content of the workshop more meaningful and ‘relevant’ to their individual needs and situation. Given the time required to analyze the material and prepare the individual report, only those participants who complete and submit their questionnaires by February 25, 2011 will receive the report at the time of the workshop. Participants who submit their questionnaires after this date will receive their report by mail after the workshop.

In order to register, download and complete the workshop registration form from www.uslegendcars.com/seminar and mail it (together with your check for the total amount, made payable to "Performance Prime") to USLCI at the following address:
